I love the idea! Just yesterday I was lamenting the loss of beauty that many contemporary tracks suffer from, mostly due to losing the dynamic range. Compare, for example, Ella Fitzgerald's songbook, recorded in 1957, with any of today's CDs. Ella's performances are captured beautifully, with the huge dynamic range of the big band behind her left intact. What a joy to listen to!
