You ask to much to explain. The pro peole will grub out all kinds of audiophile vovabulary to describe all types of filters. Most likely the same vocabulary will be valid for parts of other filters. >From a technical view there of cause can be audible differences because some filters simply affect frequencys you can barely hear and so may change your perception in a way. If it is better!? You have to decide.
Read some and you will find out that some of these filters change the phase, some lower highs energy from 18KHz on and even lower, and some filters give solution to a problem on an impulse graph that happens above 20kHz you won´t hear at all unless you hear the curing filter that changes frequencys you can hear ;) The same problem may be a non-issue for other big brands in the business. Most likely because they don´t have the patend to make it an issue :) It goes endless... -- Wombat Transporter (modded) -> RG142 -> Avantgarde Acoustic based 500VA monoblocks -> Sommer SPK240 -> self-made speakers ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wombat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4113 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86853
