Why not? Given the current state of technology, and large scale efficient production, I just can't see any reason WHY a DAC should cost a couple grand. Heck...the Touch costs $300 and it does a really good job all by itself...plus a few more things for good measure. High End companies couldn't make a flashlight for less than $1500. It's true. I'd say give this ASUS unit a chance.
