If you are happy with your preamp, it would be a no brainer for me to go with one of the wyrd4sound amps, or sell your preamp and get their integrated. W4S has reviewed very well and is very reasonably priced. They use the ICE chip. Not sure how they stack up to the higher power T-amps. Personally I would go with some of the "kit" amps out there and play around with them. Most people are not into all that. I like to tinker around with a soldering iron.
Bottom line - you can get a fantastic sounding 200+ wpc amp for hundreds, not thousands if you are willing to tinker a bit. -- earwaxer9 System: modified Winsome Labs Mouse, modified Maggie MMG's, Transporter, HSU sub 12, MSB DAC to 500 watt sub slave amp, JPS labs power cords, Silver audio interconnect, Audioquest Granite speaker cable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ earwaxer9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39527 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88452 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
