With the mods on: Clearer soundstage, the background noise( i. e. the screen grid) is clearly much lower and the sound is slightly warmer, the greenish tint resembles the same warm sound you get with copper wire in your pickup coil Mods off: Colder, more bluish soundstage, like you get with a silver wire in your coil, more analytical sound but slightly less musical, and the background noise is much ore pronounced.
