I recently picked one of these up, not sure if it fits your bill but it might, and it's well under your budget:

And it's best feature is theater bypass mode, which basically switches it into amp mode only and uses one specified input as a pre in for the mains. It does run a little warm but I don't think you'll have to work it to hard with your existing speakers, it's seriously underrated in power. It handles my relative inefficient 250 Watt 6 ohm NHT Classic 4s with ease.
