I tried to choose my words very carefully! Ha ha. "Relatively unimportant win" says it all. A better DAC is always a good thing, of course. And I agree a better loudspeaker or acoustic treatment can't fix some of the unusual - albeit small IMO - distortions that a DAC might produce - only a better DAC could do that. My statement was all about priorities given our finite budgets. (But the opposite applies: a new DAC can't fix some of the obvious distortions caused by loudspeakers and room acoustics. This is the missing statement from a lot of these DAC discussions.) However, since you're very happy with everything else, I won't argue against your desire for a new DAC.
