1) yes, an SB Controller can control a Touch, or any other Squeezebox model, including software players such as SqueezePlay, SoftSqueeze, and squeezeslave
2) no, using an SB Controller won't solve your disconnection problems. It would appear that something is not right with your wifi network, or perhaps with your Touch.
