Man do I love the internet! Throw out a simple idea and look what comes in just a few hours.
Here I was innocently trying to start a thread where the members of this forum could at least to reach some kind of agreement on a few simple basic principles. At the time I made the original post that didn't seem like it was going to be to difficult but boy was I mistaken. I'm not trying to pass judgement on anyone's particular beliefs, I'm just trying to get a simple outline on what we, as a group, can recommend to someone who comes onto this forum asking for some simple advice on how to assemble and set up a nice stereo system to use with their new SB Touch. Is that so f&%king difficult!?!? Sure cables have an effect but how great is their effect? For example should concerns about cable outweigh concerns about component matching? I believe that steveinaz was onto something with this post: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=684703&postcount=141 Let's try to keep things in perspective. Someone who is looking spending under $1,000 on an amp and speakers to use with a SB Touch is not going to want to spend more than $100 (10%) for cables and wires, period. Telling them how much better their $700 system is going to sound with $500 speaker cable only serves to drive them away from the hobby. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 (oops) -> Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93111 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
