I take no position in the discussion - just feel that the current CPU utilisation levels may be a result of a balancing act. The developers spent a lot of time optimising the system - I suppose the ideal would reduce CPU for all formats to an acceptable minimal level but there may have been other sub goals such as ensuring screen updating (e.g. smooth text scrolling). I also expect Flac (especially 96/24 with high compression) to be more CPU intensive than WAV but it need be not as big a difference as expected. Ultimately, measurement should show which is more CPU intensive and their relative performance. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91322 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
