Annoyingly for some modern recordings the vinyl release is less dynamically compressed than the CD. Certainly not most of the time, but some of the time ... and I've not noticed it going the other way.
Now, I am not advocating buying a turntable! On this, I definitely call conspiracy and I encourage everyone to complain. The enduring myth about vinyl superiority is encouraged when this happens. And there's absolutely no need for it.
