Details - Vmware is unable to use multiple monitors in awesome because of "lack
of support"

This is the error message I get from vmware:

This virtual machine cannot use multiple monitors for the following reasons:
* The current host window manager does not support multiple monitors.

Than I googled and found this explanation:
https://communities.vmware.com/thread/198341

"The real problem is the window manager, and here's why.... Up until just this
last year, there was not any official way to tell a window manager "hey, I want
this window to be fullscreen and I also want it to span multiple monitors." So
we have some "interesting" hacks in our code that try to force window managers
to do this, even though they really don't want to. The results can vary from
complete hell (Compiz) to mildly irritating (Openbox, apparently =;)). Last
year, some of my colleagues added the NETWM_FULLSCREEN_MONITORS Window Manager
hint to the EWMH spec (http://snurl.com/dxbi6) so that we now have a clean way
of doing this."
