FS#1257 - Follow XDG icon theme specification User who did this - Emmanuel Lepage Vallee (Elv13) ---------- For the menubar (yes, I know), it is possible to set some Gio attribute to fetch the icon payload as it is built-in for .desktop, but using them into Awesome is not directly possible without loading Gtk (I didn't test that for too long, there may be a solution I missed). Maybe we could make Gtk an optional runtime dependency? If it is there, then use is, if not, then fallback to our semi compliant implementation. Lets face it, everybody have Gtk installed.
