While today's interview didn't specify the Inquisition in Portugal, it was nonetheless quite informative, so I recommend the lengthy summary of the program (or access to the audio) linked below. Goodness only knows how many of us have ancestors who may well have fled from mainland Portugal to the Azores (and then perhaps even from the more populous islands, where the Inquisition was also conducted, to the less populous ones, like Flores).
