Hi, I'm looking for help regarding another family member Marie de Barros who came to Hawaii and then moved to the USA mainland. She was born abt 1872 in Villa do Porto, Santa Maria. That info was given by a cousin, who was not really sure. Marie de Barros married Joseph Peter Silva in 1887, she was age 13 or 14 at the time. We assume they were married in Washington State since Peter Silva was living in the area and they later had 5 children that were born in Washington.
The only information I have for Joseph Peter Silva who was just known as Peter, he was born Nov. 15, 1863 in Pico (here say). He moved with his brother Manuel to Boston then moved to Washington State. He later moved to Hawaii with Marie and their 5 children. They later had 4 more children. I've heard that they had 2 other children that died at a young age but we have no record of them. Would you be able to tell me where I should start looking? I've been searching for a couple of weeks but I haven't been able to find anything solid to follow and I'm still new this.
