Hello All,

I've been testing the latest CVS barry + OpenSync plugin with OpenSync
0.22 (ubuntu) with my Blackberry Pearl.

This does mean that I got a number of problems sorted out, the main
one being that my computer wouldn't let me use the usb device, but
bcharge and btool never reported any errors or that they hadn't been
effective; bcharge was particularly guilty of saying that it had
changed things when it hadn't. Anyway I fixed the udev rule and got
things working.

Mostly it works, all the contacts on my phone appeared in
KAddressbook, all the contacts on in my address book appeared on my
phone.

The problems:

* Address1 in home addresses gets stored as Address3 on the phone,
when you request the data directly from btool (btool -d "Address
Book") you can see the first link of the address in the Home_Address3
field; The blackberry pearl doesn't display or edit the address3 field
on the phone so the data seems to disappear to the casual user. I
found that exporting that data back off the phone also looses the
address3 field and you end up with no first line of the address in
backups using opensync.
* Images vs Photos vs Logos; I notice that even btool doesn't say if
any contacts have images or not, I had a look and there is an image
field defined in the btool code but I'm not sure how well it's worked
out. my guess is that it's a jpeg image on both sides although
opensync plugin just looses the image both ways (from phone to AB and
from AB to phone) I guess it's either something missing in the plugin,
btool or just differing names; but I notice none of the image data
apeared in the vcards I backed up using the opensync plugin. I can
only guess that the field is missing from the opensync plugin somehow.

Test will continue, if I find anything interesting I'll let you guys
know. Oh and thank you, so far you guys are doing a really good job.

Best Regards, Martin Owens
