BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER (m) continues "in swamp area not near feeder" on the 
22nd at the Moodie Dr Jack Pine Trails and another was found on the 23rd at the 
Reveler Recreation Trails east of Cannamore.
 
LAPLAND LONGSPUR, SNOW BUNTING and HORNED LARK continue along Lockhead Rd W 
just east and west of 4th Line Rd SE of North Gower.

 

Other reports were NORTHERN GOSHAWK in Richmond on the 23rd, BALD EAGLE near 
the Bank St Billings Bridge on the 22nd, singing PURPLE FINCH on the 
Sarsaparilla Trail, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (2) at Fletcher Wildlife Garden, 
CEDAR WAXWING (30) and AMERICAN ROBINS (25) at the Britannia Conservation Area 
and CAROLINA WREN (2) in the Qualicum Graham Park neighbourhood.

Due to increasing and widespread concerns regarding disturbance of wildlife and 
property, the OFNC's Birds Committee no longer reports owl sightings on the 
Internet. We will continue to encourage the reporting of owls to
