Hi,

All the packages mentioned by you are already in the system. Having seen
various threads on Mono List, it seems there is a problem with some
packages at that end.
Are the relevant .pc files present in /usr/lib/pkgconfig (or the
equivalent for wherever you have Gnome installed)? E.g,
libgnomeui-2.0.pc, librsvg-2.0.pc, etc?
Yaa; given below for Gnome as well as for Mono:
1. /opt/gnome2/lib/pkgconfig:
ORBit-xxx-2.0.pc (four in number) libgtkhtml-3.6.pc
libgnomeui-2.0.pc
libgnomeprintui-2.0.pc libgnomeprint-2.2.pc
libgnomedb-2.0.pc
libgnomecups-1.0.pc libgnomecanvas-2.0.pc
libgnome-2.0.pc
libgda-2.0.pc libbonoboui-2.0.pc
libbonobo-2.0.pc
gtksourceview-1.0.pc gnome-vfs-module-2.pc
gnome-vfs-2.0.pc
gnome-mime-data-2.0.pc gnome-keyring-1.pc
gnome-desktop-2.0.pc
gconf-2.0.pc gal-2.4.pc
gail.pc
bonobo-activation-2.0.pc
2. /opt/mono/lib/pkgconfig:
art-sharp-2.pc art-sharp.pc gapi-2.0.pc
gapi.pc
gconf-sharp.pc gecko-sharp.pc glade-sharp-2.0.pc
glade-sharp.pc
gnome-sharp-2.0.pc gnome-sharp.pc gnome-vfs-sharp-2.0.pc
gtk-dotnet-2.0.pc
gtk-sharp-2.0.pc gtk-sharp.pc gtkhtml-sharp.pc
gtksourceview-sharp.pc
libgdiplus.pc mint.pc mono-nunit.pc
mono.pc
monodoc.pc rsvg-sharp-2.0.pc rsvg-sharp.pc
vte-sharp.pc
Some of the packages such as 'librsvg' are installed in '/usr' prefix, as
per the Book and these have been taken up from there by 'gtk-sharp', for
creating their equivalent 'sharps' in '/opt/mono'. Also the '2.0' sharps in
'mono' seem to be created by 'gtk-sharp-2.x' and the plain sharps are by
'gtk-sharp-1.x'.
Do ypu make anything of it from the above?
Now my problem after this much is that 'monodevlop-0.7' needs
'gtksourceview-sharp-0.7' which needs 'gnome2 libraries' and which it cannot
see. So the IDE for 'mono' which is 'monodevelop' cannot be installed.
Thanks for your interest.
Kindest Regards
Randhir Phagura
