The first thing is to try the shortcut keys. Pressing H will jump you to the headings on a page. Pressing N will jump you to the next element on a page. Pressing G will jump you to Graphic links on a page. Pressing V will jump you to a visited link and U to an unvisited link. What works best depends on the structure of the web page but once you know it you can generally use these keys to get you where you want to quickly. There are many other things to try also but further things to suggest at this stage. 1. Use place markers on sites you frequently visit. Pressing K will jump you to this point on future visits. Set place markers by pressing Control Shift and K and tab through the option. 2. The final tip is to use the Jaws cursor to navigate quickly to the place you want to be on a page. Press num pad minus to get Jaws cursor. Once you are where you want to be Press insert num pad plus to "route PC to Jaws" and you should be able to read the page normally. 3. Finally if all this does not work there may be frames that you need to navigate. Pressing F6 will cycle you through these frames. Hope this is not too much to take in at once. Many times the place where I am needing to go is in the third row, all the way over to the right. How can I get JAWS to go over to that point without having to wade through both of the first two rows to get to where I need to be? I am using Windows XP and JAWS 7.0.
