Ugliness: Instead of using the modules, your pluggable system could read the module into a scalar, prepended with 'use strict;' and eval that. Of course you'd have to scan the code for and remove 'no strict;' as well, and be sure that the author didn't really need it. But what if they: 'no strict q/refs subs/;' etc. etc.
