Thanks Alex. We both have JAWS 8. So will the BrailleNote still be able to see the ActiveSync service, even though it's not installed? Maybe it's part of the Widcomm drivers perhaps? No you don't need it, and bluetooth should work fine assuming the computer has bluetooth on it. If not, you will need a serial cable, but bt should work fine if available. This assumes you have the latest JAWS, as either version 7 or 8 (can't remember which) allows you to select a com port past 4 (bt normally takes port 7 or 8, in my experience anyway).
