But hang on, my friend has a bluetooth dongle. You're saying then that that

No, you do not. You do need the serial cable that comes with the braille
note, though. This is the only way the braille terminal will run, because
that is the only way JAWS will recognize that the braille terminal is there.
I think the same is true for Window-eyes, and most likely even the Braille
Note itself. I have used the braille terminal with both JAWS and
Window-Eyes, but I prefer JAWS, so that is what I usually use the braille
terminal program with. I have to use a USB serial adapter though because my
laptop does not have a serial port. So, unless her computer has a serial
port, you're screwed.
