I'm not sure about the Get Connected box, but it happens to me,
too. I ink it is something in the media player, not ActiveSync,
so you may want to look through the player's options. I don't
think this is off-topic as most people on the list use
ActiveSync.
Have a great day,
Alex

Thanks Alex I will. I suppose I could install ActiveSync anyway
as it will
come in handy when she gets the mPower, however I've noticed that
if a
connection hasn't been established and you open something like
Winamp, the
Get Connected wizard appears as well. Any way to fix this? If
this is off
topic, then I apologize. Thanks in advance.

I think so, but you may want to bring activesync on a thumb drive
just in case. It should work without it, though, as (as you
said) I think it is built into the bt drivers.
Have a great day,
Alex

Thanks Alex. We both have JAWS 8. So will the BrailleNote still
be able to
see the ActiveSync service, even though it's not installed? Maybe
it's part
of the Widcomm drivers perhaps? Thanks in advance.

No you don't need it, and bluetooth should work fine assuming the
computer has bluetooth on it. If not, you will need a serial
cable, but bt should work fine if available. This assumes you
have the latest JAWS, as either version 7 or 8 (can't remember
which) allows you to select a com port past 4 (bt normally takes
port 7 or 8, in my experience anyway).
Have a great day,
Alex

Hi all,
I'm planning to show my friend my BrailleNote mPower during my
visit to see
her this weekend, and one of the features is the Braille
Terminal. However,
this friend doesn't have ActiveSync installed on her laptop as
she doesn't
own a BrailleNote and therefore doesn't need such a tool. Does
she need
ActiveSync just to use Braille Terminal? I will be showing her
how it works
via bluetooth. Thanks in advance.
