Not the subject, I saw that NewEgg.com sells a 32gb cf card for something like $64-ish. I wonder if it would work in a bn? I don't have the money to try it, but it would be good to know if this size were an option.

Have a great day,
Alex

get again?

The wait of of the detection of thumb drives has been reduced by
a great
measure with the KeySoft 7.5 release.

There is no such thing as a 12 GB CompactFlash card. They will
continue to
have them available in exponential capacities. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16,
32, 64, 128
GB.

remember though, the braillenote will not take SDHC cards. well
it will, but
with an adapter.

people have tried 12 GB CF cards maybe even 16 GB cards, and
there's been no
problem.

for USb thumdrives the initial wait can be a bit long. how ever,
with
patience the Braillenote will recognise it.

There are actually PCMCIA and CompactFlash cards that I have
seen that
draw
5 volts. So, with the mPower and Classics, it is required that
the card be
between 64-512 MB in order to perform the upgrade. It is
required that the
upgrade be done using a SD card on the mPower and a CompactFlash
card on
the
Classic. There is no limit of the size of CompactFlash card
that can be
used
to perform an upgrade on the PK as the upgrade procedure is
different. It
si
possible to use SD cards of up to 2 GB on the mPower for other
information.
It is possible to use CompactFlash cards of 16GB on the other
units for
storing information.

Note: The latest version of KeySoft for the BrailleNote Classic
and PK is
KeySoft 7.5. Build 27. The latest for the mPower is KeySoft
7.5. Build 28.
The only difference is that Build 28 fixed an issue with
printing via USB.

If you have an mpower, you need an sd card between 64 and 512
mb.
If you have a classic or pk, you need a compactflash card
between
64 and 512 mb. The 3.5 thing is the voltage of pcmcia cards;
the mpower
will not take a pcmcia card, or any other card for that matter,
that draws
above 3.5 volts. I do not think any cf or sd cards do this, so
it is only
the pcmcia ones to worry about and you can't easily buy those
anymore.

Have a great day,
Alex

It's the newby on the block again. Sorry, but I was think of
getting cards to download latest 7.5 if it's worth it. Now have
build 20. Is it worth it with the bugs? How large or small must
the card be in memory? What type, Sandisk? Saw a 256, what is the
thing about 3.5 what? Cannot remember what this is about 3.5.
Sorry, have been out of computers 20 years. Just learning all
over again. Karen and Harpo guidedog
