SELECTION TRIALS: 14th March and 21st March For those players interested in trying out for Fire of London for the 2009 season, we are holding 2 days of selection trials. These trials will be structured around games that will help us to identify the qualities we are looking for: * Enthusiasm and willingness to learn * Potential for improvement * Athleticism * Commitment Fire of London 2009 Following recent successes both domestically (Tour runners up) and in Europe (EUCF Silver medallists), Fire of London's goal for 2009 is to build towards World Clubs in 2010 and to secure the long term future of the club. Therefore, the major focus is to develop new players. This goal is reflected in Fire of London's plan for the forthcoming season, where the aim is to maximise exposure of new recruits and less experienced players to top level ultimate. In particular, Fire aims to take two small (13-16 players), evenly matched teams to each of the four tour events, before making a selection for Nationals and the European Ultimate Club Finals. Other highlights include: * A pre-season away weekend (in Snowdonia or Lake District ) to speed integration of new players. * An early season European warm-up tournament. * Demanding weekend practices. __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://www.fysh.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/staying-informed
