Greetings folks. My Michael Guinn and I wanted to let you all know that on August 27th and 28th...Not Just Alpha Bets and Spoken Images will be having a two day... poetry/spoken word competition. It will be 500.00 in cash and prizes per day  totaling up to  a $1000.00 in cash and prizes... yes.. $1000.00.

Its our after nationals  "End of Summer Slam Series"... it will be a huge weekend because other great poetry events are in town that same weekend,  which I encourage anyone to check out.  That alone makes DFW the place to be on those two dates.

We would love to truly make this a summer to remember.  And in doing so..bridge the gap in our communities.  We encourage anyone who wants to travel, to come down and spend that last weekend before school vacation is over in Dallas/Fort Worth Spoken Word is a growing tradition and we want you to be a part of it. We can’t do it with out you.

 

One of the two competitions will be on August 27th at the Rose Marine Theater .. with A.J. Houston. The next night's contest will be at none other than 5th Avenue Soul Sundays which is a Sunday night Neo Soul Venue.  A very good venue for this event.  THE Seagrams Show series is proof of that.   Now as I get details... I will keep those of you interested..in coming posted. August 27th and 28th is far enough away for us to really make it a good event for everyone....    These folks won't know what hit em. From August 21st to August 28th there is a venue every week...in Dallas.. and you are guaranteed to enjoy a Poetry Fix like no other.  THERE'S A REVOLUTION OF WORDS AND WE NEED WORD WARRIORS WITH HEART AND SOUL  DON'T MISS THIS EVENT. 

 

But, I digress.. regardless of your skill level or purpose... I encourage everyone to come on down....because its the  last days of summer and just want you have agood time.. OK... 

I will have two hotel rooms for people to crash Saturday afternoon to Sunday after noon.  I will buy breakfast for all out of town poets and will try to take care of everyone.   Because it truly is about bridging that gap between our communities and establishing a network of support that we all can benefit from. But mostly it’s about the art and sharing our hearts so that others can be inspired to do the same. Young and Old, All cultures are invited because we all have something to offer.       

First 18 poets - 11 from out of town... will be chosen to compete both nights....  2 rounds

1st - 4th places for each night increases your chance of winning something.    

I'll send out press releases to media, produce programs promoting your product, and you can come network, hang out.. and just be YOU.   Come show the DFW how it’s done.

Hello fans and supporters of poetry and spoken word.   My Name is Michael Guinn and I just wanted to inform you that a BRAND NEW...Poetry Magazine is coming soon. This magazine/newsletter will promote and support all slam venues, spoken word venues, art exhibits, plays, movies, book and CD releases and list weekly reports on features, contest, including all literary organizations as well as National Poetry Competitions and all international guest visiting the area.  AND YES IT WILL BE AVAILABLE NATIONALLY.
