KANYE WEST LENDS SUPPORT TO MILLIONS MORE MOVEMENT

Chicago (MillionsMoreMovement.com) - Before an audience of excited supporters and local Chicago news media, multi-platinum recording artist Kanye West stopped by the Nation of Islam's headquarters on July 24 to show support for the Millions More Movement, 10th Anniversary Commemoration of the Million Man March to take place in the nation's capitol, October 15, 2005.

Mr. West, a three-time Grammy Award a philanthropist through his Kanye West Foundation, which combats the rising dropout rates in schools across the country, started Loop Dreams as an initiative designed to support the fight to keep instruments in schools, and give "at-risk" students the opportunities for learning how to write and produce music, all while improving their academic skills.

The Millions More Movement, which will commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Million Man March, is expected to exceed the estimated 1.2 million who attended the Million Man March in 1995. This year's movement will involve men, women and children and is designed to bring together all of the diverse segments of the black national and international communities to create a viable framework for resolving critical issues affecting millions of men, women, children and families. It is a united campaign to reinvigorate efforts to maximize dispossessed communities, develop a collective framework to respond to critical concerns in economic, social, political, educational, health, financial and cultural disparities and acknowledge the commonalities among black people.

The original Million Man March brought unprecedented numbers of African American men to the nation's capital and demonstrated a collective willingness to atone for past shortcomings and to reconcile differences at home, school, church, organizations and the society in general.
