Media Portrayal of Atlanta March Degrading:
Why Do We Need the Right to Vote if We Are American?

march (11K)There are always two sides to any story, but not where it comes to the media's portrayal of Black America. CNN and other major cable news channels ran the story of the march in Atlanta over and over on national and world television complete with liberal slant: a slant that places Blacks in the infamous position of political sambos, deprived and needy of whitey's attention.

With the camera angled to demonstrate supposedly thousands of Black people walking to freedom, the media has once again kept Blacks in their place. If the world can see us dependant on what the laws of the country will do in favor of our best interest instead of us as a people being equal to the rest of American citizens, then the world will always see us as second class and that is how we will be treated.

This grand mockery of Blacks was an insult to many although a proud moment for a few, the few who are trapped beneath the spell of the Democratic Party. The Democrats (white and Black ones) were there behind the scenes and in front of the cameras to confirm Black dependency by proclaiming to the world that renewal of the voting rights acts was vital. As if lawmakers have a choice.

Over and over, Afromerica has said that first of all there is no need for the act if America is truly a democracy and country of fairness. If this were the case, why in the world would we need laws to make it so?

If Blacks have to have written permission to vote then we truly are a displaced, second-class people who cannot do for ourselves; and as long as we allow ourselves to believe we need help, we will continue to be and treated as second-class.

John Conyers and John Lewis were front and center in the media defending what they believe is a right of Blacks when it is not a right of Blacks to vote, it is a given. All American citizens should be able to vote so why should it be a right for Blacks? This is outrageously insulting and the Blacks who are supporting and following this facade are doing nothing more than trying to relive and revive the 60s.

Where is the other voice of Black America before the media that asks, "Why do we need the 'Right to Vote' if we are Americans?" Where are the warriors of Black America that will expose this political staging for what it really is, which is a way for the Democrats to regain the Black vote.

march2 (11K)Conyers attempted to assure Blacks that this is something we need to do as he and Jesse Jackson both spewed rhetoric such as ""Don't give up, don't give in. Keep the faith, keep your eyes on the prize." And "The right to vote does not endanger, but we must protect it against discrimination," These words are for losers and dependents, not self-sufficient, intelligent beings.

The media has succeeded in disillusioning Blacks by putting them in their place. As long as we march around demanding rights from white America whereas we should already have those rights, we will be treated like and seen as idiots and retards.

To put the icing on the cake, the commentator of the report says that the marchers were told what the states must do in order for the law to be reinstated, which were nothing more than red-tape proceedings that should have happened in a closed door meeting without a march, thus giving the illusion of victory for those who marched. We (Blacks) should not have to do a damn thing about the so-called right to vote. We should already have it!

However, once the law passes and 'Wees' can vote again, the marchers will shout for glory thinking they won a victory and the white media will have succeeded in what they do best, belittling the intelligence and dignity of Blacks by promoting the man-made Black leaders. This is a damn shame.

The trick of the Democrats is further exposed when they attempt to turn the issue toward the Republicans as the ones who are standing in the way of Black progress. The report says, "Organizers said they hope the "Keep the Vote Alive" march will pressure Congress and President Bush to extend key provisions of the landmark law, which expires in 2007."

While Republicans sit back and laugh at the efforts of the Democrats to gain votes using this weak and demeaning strategy, knowing all the time that the whole issues is nothing more than red-tape, Blacks are being portrayed by the media as fools, and this is defeating because white America have a tendency to see all Blacks the same.

Again, where is the voice of Black America to stand before the media and give the other side of the story? Not all Black people feel this way, at most, the majority of Black America know better or could care less about this political chess game played by the two most racist groups in the world.

This whole façade is an embarrassment and a strike against the dignity of Blacks who have any dignity. Thus further proving the barbarian society in which we live. Race matters and white American media and their Black pawns are the main ones who keep race as a major factor.
