8TH ANNUAL NATURAL HAIR,
FASHION & BEAUTY
SHOW

Lauderdale, Florida – On Sunday, December 4th,
Natural Trend Setters (NTS), an upscale urban salon specializing in natural hair
care, will host its 8th Annual Natural Hair, Fashion & Beauty
Showcase. The elegant event will
focus on the latest Trends in Afro centric Beauty, Style and Fashion, and how it
relates to Beauty and Wellness today. The show will be held at Legend Theater in

The
Natural Hair, Fashion and Beauty Showcase were created in 1997 to show
appreciation for the NTS customer and to present alternatives to chemically
treated hair. Since then, the
show’s attendance has grown by leaps and bounds, hosting nearly 600 people at
the last show in 2004. This Extraordinary event will offer an evening of
Culture, music, dance, and poetry. The show will be hosted by Myra J of the Tom Joyner
Show & a Comedian from the bad boys of comedy Razor. The red carpet event
will show case local talent, Spoken word artist, and beautiful male and female
models. These beautiful people will grace the stage with a fabulous hair and
fashion show case and top entertainment for everyone to
enjoy.
In the
late 90’s upon arriving in South Florida,
sisters and co-owners, Yanique and Simone Hylton, knew that there was something
missing in the way of hair care.
They decided to open Natural Trend Setters, which catered to the needs of
men, women and children, the first of its’ kind anywhere in and around that
area. “When we first got to Ft. Lauderdale, no one understood what we were
doing”, says Simone, the creative talent behind NTS. “Coming from New York, I was surprised
to see that hardly any women of color were into natural hair…especially with the
weather being the way that it is... It took a while for us to get them (the
clients) away from what they were used to.” It is that perseverance that eventually
led Yanique, the business half of this duo, into turning NTS from a small
upstart company to a budding franchise with spa services and a boutique. Natural Trend Setter opened a salon in
Delray Beach, Florida early last year and plans to open another in
Miami before the
end of 2006.
