One Year and It’s Still Mello…
Celebrating the 1st year Anniversary of South 
Florida’s hottest poetry dinner party, Mello 
Mondays
 
 
(Miami, Fl)─ 
It 
seems like yesterday, The District was packed as Dead Prez rocked the house. That night 
set the tone for renowned poets and artists to grace the stage of Mello Monday’s like Black Ice, Inner Circle, Paul Flores, Urban 
Mystique, Asali DeVan, Will Da Real One and many more. To celebrate the one 
year anniversary of the sexiest spoken word dinner party, you are invited to 
experience Mello Monday’s on January 16, 2006 at The District Restaurant & 
Lounge, 35 NE 40th 
Street in the Design District at 
9:30pm.
 
“Mello Monday’s has changed the spoken 
word scene in South Florida. It has allowed 
people to eat, network, dance and be enlightened all in one setting,” says Jones 
Pierre a spokesperson of the Miami Group. 
 
In celebration of the 
anniversary, the night is respectfully titled, “I am Woman” and will feature two 
well known poets, Georgia Me (HBO Def Poet) and Sonya Renee (2004 Poetry Slam 
Champion). There will also be a live painting by Caiphus. The event is hosted by 
Ingrid B with music by DJ Self Born.
 
Doors open at 9:30pm
