Steve Connell has been a fan of the word - written, spoken, sung,
rapped, slammed - for as long as he can remember. He has won both the first two
poetry grand slams in which he competed, making him the 2002 Hollywood Grand
Slam Poetry Champion and the 2003 L.A. Grand Slam Poetry Champion. He culminated
the 2003 slam year by winning the National Slam Poetry Championship with his
team (Team Los Angeles) in Chicago. When he is not traveling as a cast
member of the Declare Yourself Spoken Word Showcase, Steve can be found
performing at his home poetry venue, Da Poetry Lounge, in Los Angeles.

Sekou (tha misfit) Andrews is versatile performer who commands
attention on any stage with effortless presence and energy. He is
currently the National Poetry Slam Competition two-time champion, winning the
2003 team championship (with Team Los Angeles) and the 2002 individual
championship, as well as the individual championship at the 2003 Word Up!
National Poetry Slam.

producer and hip-hop artist, Sekou's talents extend beyond the world of spoken

double, spoken word CD, "Afrodeezyackz/The Mumblings of a Madman" -- have been
critically acclaimed, earning him multiple awards for Best Spoken Word Album,
Best Spoken Word Song, Best Hip-Hop Album, Best Hip-Hop Song, Best Holiday
Album, and Best Producer from Just Plain Folks, the largest music organization
in the nation. In addition, Sekou has been recognized with the Los Angeles
Music Award for Outstanding Music Video and was nominated as Best Hip-Hop
Artist.
