There are now only 15 spots remaining in this year’s edition of the slam, which is the closing event of the Toronto Urban Music Festival, happening during Labor Day weekend.

 

In order to ensure that we have the best possible artists competing in the slam, the registration fee is as follows: Canadian $35, US $30, British $20.  The registration fee ensures the quality, as those who don’t feel that they have a chance to win, won’t pay to enter. We’ve been able to keep the fee consistent over the past three years.

 

You are officially registered once your registration has been received. US artists should make their cheque or money order payable to Dwayne Morgan, for banking purposes. All others should make theirs payable to Up From The Roots. Canadian artists can use email money transfers.

Once your registration has been received you will begin to be included in all of the press and promo that is done for the show. We might be able to have you listed on the website for the music festival, the up from the roots website, and we always try to have poets perform a piece during the music festival on the main stage.

 

We have never had fewer than 300 people attend the slam, and they do buy product, so make sure that you carry some when you come.
