Looks very convenient!
I'm not sure what people commonly put in their global={...} but I fairly
often also have things like
s1*12 \time 3/4 s2.*15 \tempo "Allegretto" ...
which obviously does not fit into the proposed feature. However, that's
just a matter of presenting the feature in a suitable way in the
documentation.
