This wouldn't go through the first time... so here it is again!
:-)

Well just in the interest of providing our little life update...
Son #1 (2 3/4 yrs) came down with a bad case of hand-foot-mouth disease.
Parents, don't let your kids get this! So for a week all he would eat was
pasta and popsicles and now all he wants is pasta and popsicles! You think
a kid would get tired of the same food... but he's also eaten raisins so I
know his mouth doesn't hurt anymore. Two nights ago he finished the last of
the M&C so I told him no more pasta and although he asked for it again last
night, he agreed to eat carrots, broccoli and cheese sticks instead. But he
still had 2 orange popsicles for dessert... :-)

Son #2 (5 1/2 months) also came down with hand-foot-mouth despite the dr
assuring me that he still had my maternal antibodies and therefore would be
immune. HA! At least he didn't get the horrible blistering in his mouth...
or at least I don't think he did because the breastfeeding / bottle feeding
wasn't affected at all. In fact, I think Son #2 is on his 6-month growth
spurt because he's eating every 2 hrs and up 2 times in the night again...
Sigh... This will be over soon, right? Coincidentally, I introduced cereal
3 days ago - he doesn't scream, but he doesn't exactly open his mouth
either. I'm very tempted to skip all the other cereals (oats, barley,
wheat, etc) and go straight to veggies - older brother loved squash...
We'll see how it goes...

DH also developed hand-foot-mouth despite the dr saying that it was
"extremely rare" for adults to get this. Did I mention it's my DH's SECOND
diagnosis with hand-foot-mouth?? The first time, even Son #1 didn't get
it... However DH's mouth, as he put it, felt burnt and eating was very
difficult. Even swallowing. DH said that if he knew it was so painful, he
would have been kinder to Son #1 when he was complaining that his mouth
hurt. I figure this is divine retribution for DH and maybe next time he'll
be a little more listening and caring... :-) Yes, I told him that too in
the most loving way I could. He laughed. That's why he's my DH.

As for me, well I'm getting my kicks buying DVDs - stocking up for the
winter so that we have some new entertainment for the kids and DH.
Especially DH. Who do you think REALLY wants to see the Wiggles and the
Crocodile Wrestler?

Otherwise, it's same old same old. Any suggestions for great indoor
activities that are easy to set up and easy to clean up for an almost 3 yr
old boy?? Cars and trucks will only go so far...

Thanks!
:-) Lisa
