New question #821496 on Ubuntu-Certification: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+question/821496
More of a fuss, rather than a bug-report I think Dell exposes features like Intel Turbo-boost 3.0, Nvidia Dynamic Boost 2.0 and Nvidia Advanced Optimus differently to the Windows OS, compared to the Linux kernel. As a result, my dell laptop, and likely many others seem to lack support for these features, despite their perfect functionality on windows. I have posted a community request on Dell's website about this issue. Ofc I'm not too sure about whether or not I'm completely justified to request compatibility from Ubuntu. However, it would be really nice if some sort of compatibility layer or some other kind of technology was implemented to better accomodate the Dell ecosystem of devices. I feel providing feature-complete support is important, so I'm shooting my shot here to see if I can do something about it. -- You received this question notification because your team Canonical Hardware Certification is an answer contact for Ubuntu-Certification. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-hw-cert Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~canonical-hw-cert More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
