AFAIK, 2MB is the windows default and binutils follows the tradition set by
the native tools unless you deliberately override using the --stack option.
If turning up the stack to 128MB doesn't solve your problem, but running it
in the heap does, that could mean you're overrunning a buffer or got a stray
pointer somewhere.
