Ballers, So far as of today, Friday July 3, 2009, Only Trojans basketball Team has registered for the league. I would like to remind all teams that for the committee to come up with the fixtures for the league and to get the league going by 11th July as per schedule, we need teams to register right now before the actual day the 2009 season shall start.
We therefore have extended the registration period to Tuesday July 7 2009. After that day we shall not entertain any late registration. I would also like to remind you that to register, you need to fill in the 12 Player Registration forms (each player should fill this form, I gave the teams one copy to be photocopied by the teams for each player), You also need to fill in the Team registration form with each player signing this form as well and each team will need to pay K12,000 to be registered (thus K1,000 per player). If you really want to play in this Basketball season then take that step register now!!! Or you will miss out on the action. Cougars showed that with time they sure will be a force to recon with, whilst Blazers with experience on their side proved that if you do stick together you bound to achieve a lot in life. It was a good tournament and many thanks to the committee which was around to patch up all the little things, especially Paul who spent the entire day at Silver on Saturday from Game One right up to the very last game. Guys this is only the beginning, lets all be dedicated and focused, we should make 2009 a basketball season to remember. On another note, I would also like to say thumps up to Mzodzo for their newly acquired kit, that’s the way to go guys. You guys surely are geared up for this season, and I just hope other teams will follow suit SOON. This shows that a team is committed to playing the game they love. There were a few incidents which happened during the tournament and I wont dwell on them, let bygones be bygones, but that does not mean that the people who were involved should think they can do it again, because the next time something similar happens, it will be dealt with severely. PLEASE Team Captains can you all make sure that all your players are well behaved during or after the games or even at training. DISCIPLINE is very vital if we all want basketball to prosper and grow bigger than what it its now, lets not frustrate the people who are trying to make it happen. Lastly, its VERY disappointing to note that up to today there is still no team which has registered for the league, after all the noise the teams were making in wanting the league to start, please lets all make sure we register in time before the deadline.
