Unfortunetly I feel like I am underpaid but i guess since I have only "professionally" been programming for 2 years its fair pay. I started in a small shop, ecommerce. There is was the man, if I saw a bussiness oppertunity or stuff that needed changed I brought it up and got the go ahead to change it. Now in the fortune 500 company (top 20) (top 500 global) we employee about 300k but since we're retail thats an inflated number slightly than yours... My biggest problem here is Java developers...java is the enterprise standard so we generally don't get CF projects at the enterprise level we're doing mostly store support applications like track the liquor sales...its not the most interesting work in the world...likewise the bussiness that needs the app is the one that decided when the work needs to be done by which is very very irritating. I think my firend works for your company :) Wouldn;t mind working there honestly atleast you don;t have the most ruthless retailer in the world as your #1 competitor (that being walmart).
