Take a guitar string; it will resonate and given one knows the length and other factors any first year physics student can calculate the "cycles" of any given point on the string at any given time. Now - show me the person that can calculate when the next Ice Age is. You can't. Why? Because we have no idea why the Ice Age occurred, when it might happen again, or if one will EVER happen again. Why? Because we don't understand what the factors are that affect climate and, even if we did, we don't know, nor can we predict with any certainty, how those factors effect weather. We can't even predict next weeks weather with any accuracy much less the next Ice Age!
