For my BD, my in-laws wanted to replace my projector that died a couple of months back. It was a Dell 2300MP. Never was a great projector for home theater, but it was cheap at the time, 2004 - $1500.
They told me that they would cover the cost of a new one, but I didn't want to gouge them. I found the Optoma HD66 on Amazon for $641. I was kind of leary of buying such an inexpensive projector, but thought I'd give it a shot. Ordered it Wednesday, paid for 2 day shipping and got it yesterday. Wow! I cannot believe how much projectors have progressed in the past 6 years. The colors are way more vibrant, the contrast is 10x better. My old projector was 1024x768. This one is 1280x720. This one displays none of the screen door effect that my old one did. Unfortunately, the picture is bigger than my previous screen so I'm just projecting on the wall for now. So, if you want to get a projector and don't want to spend a lot of money, I can't recommend the Optoma enough. zB Look at the hate we're breeding Look at the fear we're feeding Look at the lives we're leading The way we've always done before ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:327876 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
