Always! I have only tried to grind once in my life without eye protection, and guess what, it ended up at the doctor...and with a closed eye for a week I always use a mask and ear protection as well, in that way I dont have to continue listen to the grinder for three hours after I'm done grinding. And then I use ear protection for the dust.... haha
