Issue 1028: Continue downloads in background when Chrome is closed http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1028
Comment #7 by pileot: Right, the limit speed function would be REALLY awesome. If your playing an online game or streaming movies/music, but still want to download, you gotta share the bandwith. Being able to say "this download gets this speed, that download gets that speed" would be a pretty awesome feature. Johnmee, if you just type issue 660, issue 752, issue 1537 it makes links :P I went to the other threads and pointed them here. One idea (to keep each window seperate) is to make downloads start a new process. This download process would allow each window to download files and still stay seperate from each other. Since all downloads are in one process, it would be easy to throttle them, keep tabs on whats doing what, chrome can be closed and the downloads still finish, everyones happy. I dont especially like the "download bar" that pops up on the bottom of the window, as switching tabs can cause that bar to blank out, and then you have an inch of dead white space. Resizing the window fixes this, but its a bother. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
