I don't want your automatic updater either. At least Apple gives you the option not to install it. I'd rather use Safari than Chrome anyway. Automatic updates are not a bad idea but when you are forced to have it, it gets annoying. At least give the option to turn it off. Or better yet, do it a different way, like the way Firefox handles updates. Their system is very very good. Also, please provide OFFLINE installers for all your applications.
