I think this has run its course. Time to take it to private email.
Ultimately, Michael is accurately describing the dynamic that the list
has. When a responder makes additional comments after simply answering
a question, they are typically just trying to help and understand what
the purpose is. Often this leads to a better end result.
If you don't like an answer, ignore it. If someone is abusive,
contact the admin address (but I didn't see anything that would
qualify as abuse in this thread).
