The biggest slowdown as far as I could see is in the concurrency management in 
updates, the ReentrantReadWriteLock does not scale (I'll work on that to 
replace it with something else). As for merging, do you mean such code can be 
written or that we have such? Did I miss a method somewhere to merge multiple 
DecayingEstimatedHistogramReservoirs?
