I'm -1 on updating the driver to 4.6, and am strongly +1 for considering 3.6.x
series.
As a side-note, it's very sad that all we have in-tree is {{SimpleDriver}} for
testing and as a reference implemenetation of the protocol spec, and we have to
rely on external projects even in tests, but this is probably a lengthier
conversation that deserves a dev mailing list thread.
