Jakub Zytka commented on CASSANDRA-18467:
-----------------------------------------

> General agreement is to not worry about adding another task to clean. (Stefan
> wrote a good argument as to why it would be superfluous.)

Ah, only now I found the argument you probably refer to:

I believe this argument has a flaw. I asked around how people work with
multiple JDKs (say - 11 and 17). And some of them "just" switch the JDK using
the same repository. While this is not an approach I use and encourage,
removing IntelliJ files accommodates their need - i.e. the need to regenerate
IntelliJ files after switching the JDK version.

> There was a discussion in CASSANDRA-18258 how to update generate-idea-files.
> The final agreement was to create one target to cover both Java 11 and Java
> 17.
> It will be good to figure out CASSANDRA-18263 and reshuffle arguments and
> tasks based on what we decide to use as gc in testing for both Java 11 and
> Java 17.
