While I agree that adding the prefix automatically would be preferrable, it leaves ambinguity: DefaultOption cannot know which of long/short names are preferred, similarly Switch cannot know which of enabled/disabled is preferred. The scenario presented now throws an IllegalArgumentException if the preferredName doesn't begin with a specified prefix.
