The green wire is the ground wire from the CRT board shield that should
connect to the ground braid on the CRT.

The other wire you describe is part of the deguass circutry. It connects to
the black coil of wire that runs around the edges of the CRT. You should see
the connectors on the bottom of the CRT empty and waiting.

To my surprise, laying across the analog board was a spring attached
two two looped lengths of wire that look like picture hanging wire, not
connected to anything.

In addition, there is a green wire with a clip coming from metal box
the end of the yoke (I think that's the right term) not connected to
anything.
