You compacters everywhere: Our "Chuck Underhill" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> askz:
>Might a Dremel tool be useful for "trimming" the extra glass away? Any number of disk cutters would work. A Dremel might be a bit on the (very) slow side but most of us consider this stuff as a labor of love. Please observe all the safety precautions about eyeware, clothing, and such. Ground glass when airborne is evil stuff. I believe our original writer, "Laurence TeknoLiber" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, said he is going for a diamond disk of some variety. Anyway, then Chuck askz: >Cleaning the CRT surface is another story. Would have to "seal" it with something. If, as Grijan said, all you have to do is wipe the phosphor coating off with a wet rag, then we may be kwel. A thorough cleaning with the usual cleaners and might we have a CRT-cum-picture window without any contamination worries for our little fishies. I do hope someone tries this and reports what really happens when you meet the inside of a CRT screen. Better yet and far easier: Just restore the Mac to working condition and run one of those fish screen savers. Bill -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
